Hip Bursitis - Hip bursitis
is a common injury often seen in athletes who run or participate in sports
such as soccer or football. The bursa (a fluid filled sac between the
hip and the tendon that passes over the bone) becomes inflamed, and instead
of allowing for smooth motion, causes pain each time the tendon has to
move over the bone. Hip bursitis symptoms can be quite painful, as patients
with hip bursitis move this tendon with every step.
Snapping hip syndrome - Characterized by a snapping
sensation and often an audible 'popping' noise, Snapping hip syndrome
is a condition when the hip is flexed and extended. This condition is
commonly due to tendons catching on bony prominences and "snapping"
when there is any movement of the hip. This can be caused by Iliotibial
Band Snap, Iliopsoas Tendon Snap or, less often, a Hip Labral Tear.
